The theme for the blog today is SYMBOLS and for this, I decided to have a little play around with my camera settings. I first looked on Pinterest as my first idea for this word was symbolism rather than symbols such as !?/.>< etc. I found some long exposure it's that I tried to mimic and these came out good but they weren't what I was looking for and didn't encompass the theme very well. So then whilst I was on the settings with the long shutter speed I decided to play with lights and create symbols with the light, combining the symbols theme and the shots I had already taken. I am quite happy with how these turned out because it meant that I got to be creative with the editing process as well as the shooting process.
These were the results:
These were the inspiration for the long exposure shots:
I also experimented with shadows and handheld symbols, so I held my hand in front of the camera and created some symbols that I thought would look good and then when I edited them I turned them black and white to see the shadow of them even more. Some images are blurred purposely to create an effect of imperfections and I think that really adds to the photo.
